After a loooong rest from this site, I am back. It has been months of hard work: research trips, shooting, editing, dubbing, writing plus not eating on time and lacking decent sleep. Why? Well, I just happen to be the coach, writer and moderator of my team at school (INCAT Natan-ok) which is competing for the national video blog contest. It's fun though and I'm getting the hang of it. I am just too frustrated for the slim support that my superiors are giving. Man, my pockets are empty. I just pray our 2 blogs will win.

I am happy that the blogs can help Ilocanos here in Ilocos Norte revive or reawaken interest in things Ilocano. I,myself, treasure the road trips, interviews, the festivals that we had.

1st Ilocos Norte Film Festival
The province was abuzz with activities for the 1st Ilocos Norte Film Festival which ran from October 25 to 27. The fest kicked off with a motorcade around the capital, Laoag City, followed by an Opening Program at the Plaza del Norte in Paoay. Students and teachers queued up at Robinson's Mall in San Nicolas to view Pinoy movies for free. What were most rewarding were the two seminar-workshops conducted by the Film Development Council of the Philippines on Oct. 26 at the MMSU Training Center in Batac. Director Brillante Mendoza (famous for his films like "Kinatay" and "Lola" which won in the Cannes Film Fest) lectured on "From Concept to Film". Actor-Director Leo Martinez tackled "Acting for Film and Television" based on "No Acting Please- The Eric Morris System of Work for Actors". The Closing Program was held at Malacanang of the North in Paoay.
